Speech therapy typically begins with an assessment of a child’s speech and language competence, performed by a SLP (Speech-Language Pathologist), followed by treatment of any speech disorder, language disorder, or communication problem that would inhibit the child from interacting as a person would without a speech/language condition.
Speech therapy can help children with speech and language disorders conquer their condition through practice and repetition, giving them the confidence to communicate in everyday life.
